The Hotel

One of Dubai’s original beach hotels, this sparkling beachside, wave-shaped tower is as popular with families (there’s a fantastic waterpark) as it is with adult sun-seekers, beloved for its multiple dining options and five swimming pools.

The Location

Rising from the sand on the beach, directly next to Burj Al Arab, the complex is a 10-minute walk to Madinat Jumeirah, an Arabesque-inspired complex with restaurants, a souk and palm-fringed waterways. Shuttle buses take you to the biggest malls. But most people stay put.

Style & Character

The 26-storey tower, in the shape of a breaking wave, is cleverly designed so all rooms have sea and Burj views, and the aqua-tinged décor is decidedly modern and comfortable. Deep greys and blues reflect the colour of the water; peach-coloured marble bathrooms offer giant bathtubs. There are sparkling chandeliers in the high-ceilinged lobby.

The rooms at Jumeirah Beach Hotel

A full renovation has created a calm collection of rooms and suites awash in the colours of the sea. All are spacious and generously upholstered, with floor-to-ceiling windows that make the most of the sea views. All is designed for extreme comfort, and the views from the grand balconies of the Ocean Suites are sweeping, from waterpark to mosque, to some of the world’s most famous contemporary buildings. Families may prefer ground-floor garden suites, with a kitchenette, and child-safe locks on the sliding doors, though the suites also feature kitchenettes perfect for heating up food. Villas offer a more private stay and individual plunge pools, plus butler service.

Dining & Drink Venues

There are 13 restaurants on-site, which is almost overwhelming: from hearty British pub grub at D&A to a dazzling range of high-quality pan-Asian cuisine at the brilliant Beachcomber buffet to the Beach Lounge for sundowners, there is genuinely something for everyone. The breakfast buffet is comprehensive and varied – anyone seeking Western, Middle Eastern, or East Asian dishes will be amply satisfied, and the bright indoor and outdoor dining area is a lovely place to start the day.

Service & Facilities

Service is flawless, friendly, and discreet. There are six swimming pools, a kilometre-long stretch of private beach overlooked by the sail-shaped Burj, and bookended by the Cove Beach bar and restaurant, and a pool reserved for club, suite and villa guests. Guests enjoy free access to Wild Wadi Waterpark, the excellent fun zone next door, plus there are watersports, tennis and squash courts, a well-equipped gym and spa, climbing wall, and a kids’ club that will probably be best enjoyed by young children. There is also an on-site PADI dive centre.

Conclusion

In conclusion, my stay at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel Dubai was pure enjoyment. This upmarket property is sure to please even the most discerning travelers. The recent updates and renovations were well worth the investment and are ready to be enjoyed by everyone. Whether it’s the delicious food, friendly service, excellent facilities, or the prime location the Jumeirah Beach Hotel Dubai is sure to satisfy and I can highly recommend a visit on your next trip to Dubai!
